AI Architect (Atlanta)

Our client which is an educational organization is hiring a hands-on AI Architect to lead a greenfield rebuild of their core Student Information System (SIS). This platform supports scheduling, rostering, billing, and student assessments across education programs. You’ll play a critical role in applying agentic AI to modernize a complex legacy system and define the future-state architecture as well as building and leading a team of AI Software Engineers.

Atlanta, GA (While this is a Hybrid role, you must currently live in Atlanta Ga)

What You’ll Do

Own architecture and engineering strategy for the SIS rebuildDesign AI-driven systems using LLMs and agent-based frameworksBuild and lead a team of 5–6 engineersContribute hands-on to development (player-coach role)Partner with Product and business stakeholdersInterface with "C" level executives in developing AI business initiatives

What We’re Looking For

Proven Architect / Principal Engineer experiencePrior team leadership experience (required)Strong hands-on software engineering backgroundExperience working with business leadershipExperience building or working with AI/ML systems, ideally agent-based or LLM-driven applicationsCloud experience (AWS preferred)Backend development experience (Java or Node.js preferred)

Nice to Have:

SIS or EdTech experienceExperience with system modernization or migrations
