Architect

Works with the university architect to recommend the services of private architectural, engineering, and consulting firms.Works with the university architect to review and make recommendations regarding project budgets, cost estimates, and fee proposals of private firms. Monitors the production of construction documents to include blueprints and specifications.Monitors the construction of projects to assure that materials, methods, and workmanship comply with contract documents in coordination with IU contracted owner representatives and in-house construction management advisors. Monitors the construction of projects to assure that materials, methods, and workmanship comply with contract documents.Assigns projects, establishes priorities and schedules for all projects on assigned campus. Establishes communication methods and monitors to ensure that projects are progressing on schedule and there is good communication with departments.Provides professional guidance to all faculty and staff on assigned campus requiring architectural design.
