Job Title: Architect The Office of State Fire Marshal upholds the law and provides protection of life and property from the hazards of fire or explosion. Consults and provides recommendations on construction projects by directing and overseeing architects, owners, contractors, state agencies, etc., and the general public in the proper design of all new and renovated work to all public and privately owned buildings so that they will comply with the state adopted laws, codes, rules and regulations. Assists architects, engineers, builders, and building owners in the development of alternatives to achieve an equivalent level of safety as that intended by the adopted laws, codes, rules, and regulations. On projects where no architect or engineer is required by law, consults and recommends to building owners alternative solutions to code requirements.
