Travelers is seeking an Architect to join our organization as we grow and transform our Enterprise Technology Solutions organization. ResponsibilitiesScope: Responsible for architecture within a specific segment or domain for a single business unit.Provide architectural direction on technical patterns.Contribute to defining target‑state technology architecture and roadmaps.Conduct hands‑on prototyping and technology proof of concepts.Partner in the execution of proof of technologies.Support technology modernization initiatives.Help minimize technical debt through continuous transformation.Build foundational relationships and encourage buy‑in.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsTechnical Expertise & Education: Bachelor’s in a technology‑related field or equivalent with 6 years of demonstrated engineering experience, or 2‑3 years of technology architecture experience.Recent hands‑on architecture and/or engineering experience with modern technologies.Experience with successful execution of modernizing technology initiatives.Leadership & Influence: Intermediate leadership skills with the ability to foster a supportive learning environment, self‑motivation in identifying opportunities and tracking team efforts.Strategic & Business Acumen: Experience working in an agile operating model, insurance‑technology experience preferred, understanding of value creation and business capability models, knowledge of the insurance industry, and ability to identify and analyze current/future problems, evaluate information, and explore alternative solutions for effective decision‑making.Ability to work collaboratively with teammates to achieve mutually responsible results.Experience exercising sound judgment, making decisions, and committing to a position.Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills.Must HaveBachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or its equivalent in education and/or work experience.4 additional years of architecture/software engineering experience.BenefitsHealth Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members – including spouses, domestic partners, and children – are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar‑for‑dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
