Position: Architect (5-12 years experience) PIVOT Architecture seeks a self-motivated architect with 5-12 years of experience. If you take initiative and want increasing responsibility — more project leadership, more mentorship, more say in how we work — there’s genuine room for that here.What You’ll Do Design & DocumentationGuide projects through each phase of design and documentation — from early programming and schematic design through design development, construction documents, and construction administrationKeep Revit models and drawing sets accurate and well-coordinatedWork through architectural details and systems with an eye toward long-term performance and how they’ll actually be builtCodes & Technical CoordinationApply a solid working knowledge of building codes, ADA and accessibility standards, and local entitlement requirements to everyday project decisionsManage the permitting and agency review process with local jurisdictionsCoordinate architectural, structural, and MEP during designTeam & Project LeadershipLead project teams in a way that brings out the strongest thinking from everyone involved, including yourself and our clientsKeep consultants — structural, MEP, civil, and others — coordinated and pulling in the same direction to achieve project goalsWork alongside Principals and Project Managers to track scope, schedule, and budgetHelp run QA/QC reviews that keep our deliverables sharpManage construction administration tasks — RFIs, submittal review, site visits — as projects move toward completionClients & CultureBuild lasting relationships with clients, contractors, and consultantsMentor less-experienced staff and help create a culture where people are actively learning from one anotherContribute to how PIVOT thinks about design and technical practice as a firmWhat We’re Looking ForYou’re skilled at organizing people and work around a shared visionYou communicate clearly and adjust naturally to different communication stylesYou’re proficient at executing all phases of work — modeling and annotating in Revit — consistent with project goals and objectives, and comfortable working within shared BIM models as part of a teamYou can research building materials and product selections, and coordinate specifications for a projectYou’re comfortable in the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) for presentations and graphic communication, and know your way around at least one visualization tool (Enscape, Lumion, Sketch Up, or similar)You move easily between fine technical detail and big-picture design thinking, depending on what a project needsYou hold a professional degree from an accredited architecture program; licensure is preferred, or you’re actively working toward itAbout PIVOT ArchitecturePIVOT Architecture is an interdisciplinary firm with expertise in architecture, planning, and interior design.
