Our new Architect will support industrial, advanced-manufacturing, and mission-critical facilities. This role offers hands-on design responsibility, multi-discipline collaboration, and the opportunity to grow into architectural leadership as our Greenville office expands.Position SummaryThe Architect will support architectural design and project execution for industrial, advanced-manufacturing and mission-critical facilities. Assigned projects may include manufacturing facilities, process-support buildings, control rooms, maintenance and utility buildings, laboratories, warehouses, distribution facilities, administrative spaces, and data-center or other mission-critical environments.This is a broad architectural role intended for candidates with approximately 5 to 20+ years of experience. The final level, title, compensation, and leadership responsibilities will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, technical background, licensure, project-delivery experience, and demonstrated ability to lead work within a multi-discipline EPC project team.Essential FunctionsDevelop architectural designs, construction documents, details, specifications, and code-related documentation for assigned projects.Support projects through planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning support, and turnover as assigned.Work with project managers, engineers, designers, estimators, procurement personnel, construction teams, and field support staff to develop safe, practical, cost-conscious, and constructible solutions.Coordinate architectural scope with civil/structural, mechanical, building mechanical, electrical/instrumentation, process, and piping design disciplines.Participate in project planning, design reviews, multidisciplinary coordination meetings, site assessments, client meetings, and constructability reviews.Prepare and review architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, specifications, material selections, and building-code analyses.Apply applicable building codes, life-safety requirements, accessibility standards, permitting requirements, and client design criteria.Support design for industrial and technical facilities, including structures and buildings with significant operational, equipment, security, reliability, or MEP coordination requirements.Assist with development of scopes of work, preliminary budgets, design schedules, material/equipment selections, and architectural input for proposals and estimates.Support procurement by developing and reviewing architectural specifications, bid packages, vendor data, and material submittals.Respond to RFIs, review shop drawings and submittals, issue clarifications, and resolve architectural issues during construction.Conduct site visits, field verification, and construction progress reviews; collaborate with construction personnel to address field conditions and maintain design intent.Participate in quality-control reviews to confirm completeness, interdisciplinary coordination, code compliance, and constructability before documents are issued.Help maintain and improve architectural standards, details, templates, specifications, and QA/QC practices.Mentor and provide technical support to architectural designers and other project team members as appropriate.Take on increased project, client, technical, and discipline-leadership responsibilities as experience and business needs warrant.Skills and CompetenciesWorking knowledge of project delivery from design through construction, with an appreciation for schedule, cost, safety, procurement, and constructability.Ability to produce, coordinate, and review construction documents in a highly integrated, multi-discipline environment.Understanding of building-code compliance, accessibility, life safety, building envelope, material performance, and architectural detailing.Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, engineers, and project managers.Strong problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment when managing design changes and field issues.Ability to manage several assignments and prioritize work to meet project commitments.Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other applicable architectural design and document-control tools.QualificationsProfessional degree in Architecture.Approximately 5 to 20+ years of relevant architectural design, construction-document, or project-delivery experience.Experience coordinating architectural scope with structural and MEP engineering disciplines.Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, life-safety principles, and permitting…
