This posting is hiring for two very reputable, world class firms in the DC/DMV market both looking for strong Construction Administrator Architects.
One firm is known for exclusively working on high design multifamily/mixed-use commercial projects across the country. They have one location in the northern VA area but have one dozens of awards for their work since their inception over 35 years ago.
The second firm has a strong portfolio of multifamily/mixed-use projects but are also involved in vast commercial work from corporate headquarters to science & technology to higher education. They have three domestic offices and one international and are targeting a senior architect to handle the construction administration for multiple projects.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Architect - Construction Administrator to lead the coordination and oversight of construction projects from inception through completion. This role combines architectural expertise with construction management skills to ensure that projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in alignment with design intent. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple project simultaneously, all while being the face of the firm on site.
Duties
Oversee construction administration activities, including contract management, site inspections, and quality control to ensure project standards are met.
Coordinate project schedules using tools like Project scheduling software to keep all phases on track and within deadlines.
Review and interpret construction documents, specifications, and contracts, submittals, change orders and RFI's to facilitate seamless communication between design teams, contractors, and clients.
Manage budgeting processes including cost estimation and construction estimating to keep projects financially viable.
Skills
Bachelors or masters degree in Architecture.
Minimum of 3-5 years performing Construction Administration for mid to large-scale commercial building types. Multifamily residential experience a plus.
10+ years as a working Architect preferred.
Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
Familiarity with construction estimating, budgeting processes, renovation projects, interior design integration, and contract administration.
Ability to draft detailed construction documents using CAD software; knowledge of construction techniques including renovation projects.
Strong project management capabilities to oversee multiple phases from design development through construction completion.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
Willingness to travel to project sites locally regularly and out of town when required.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
