PROJECT ARCHITECT – DESIGN-BUILD

Location: Milwaukee, WI | Salary: $110,000–$130,000 DOE

A well-established design-build organization is seeking an experienced Project Architect to join its team in Milwaukee, WI. This individual will work directly with owners during the initial design process, translate their vision into practical and functional designs, and develop detailed construction drawings that align with project requirements, budgets, zoning, and building codes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet with owners to discuss project goals, design preferences, functionality, and initial conceptsListen to client needs and translate ideas into practical, buildable designsDevelop preliminary sketches, design concepts, and complete architectural drawing packagesPrepare detailed construction documents with a strong focus on accuracy and qualityEnsure designs comply with applicable building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirementsBalance design intent with constructability, functionality, budget, and project timelinesCollaborate with internal design, engineering, and construction teams throughout the project lifecycleCoordinate design revisions and resolve issues as projects progress from concept through constructionMaintain clear communication with owners and project stakeholders throughout the design processEnsure drawings are complete, coordinated, and ready for constructionQUALIFICATIONS

Degree in Architecture or a related fieldProfessional architectural experience, preferably in a design-build environmentStrong understanding of building codes, zoning requirements, and code complianceAbility to meet with owners, listen effectively, sketch concepts, and communicate design ideasExperience producing complete, detailed architectural drawings and construction documentsStrong understanding of constructability and practical design solutions without unnecessary overdesignExcellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environmentStrong communication and client-facing skillsCOMPENSATION

Salary range: $110,000–$130,000, depending on experience
