Data Center Design ArchitectThis is a full-time (40 hours/week), on-site contract role located in Austin, TX.SummaryThis role sits within a high-growth data center design organization focused on delivering next-generation, AI-optimized infrastructure at global scale. As a Data Center Design Architect, you will lead architectural scope across complex, high-density data center projects from concept through construction and handover.You will work at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and large-scale infrastructure delivery-translating advanced technical and operational requirements into safe, code-compliant, highly efficient facility designs. This includes coordinating with mechanical, electrical, structural, and controls teams, managing external AEC partners, and ensuring alignment with standardized global design principles while adapting to local site constraints.This is a highly technical and execution-focused architecture role where speed, precision, scalability, and operational performance are critical.Our Ideal Candidate5+ years of experience in architecture, industrial facilities, or data center design within an AEC environmentBachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent disciplineStrong expertise in building codes, fire/life safety, and mission‑critical facility designProficiency with Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction CloudExperience managing external AEC vendors on complex, multi‑phase infrastructure projectsAbility to coordinate across engineering disciplines and drive alignment under tight timelinesStrong communication skills with the ability to present technical decisions to senior stakeholdersFamiliarity with hyperscale or high‑density data center environments preferredWorking knowledge of Python and/or Dynamo for design automation is a plusPreferred Qualifications Master's degree in Architecture, Civil, Structural, or Chartered Engineering3+ years as a Licensed Architect with NCARB certificationExperience supporting multi‑phased mission‑critical or hyperscale projectsExposure to AI infrastructure facilities and GPU compute density requirementsExperience developing automated Revit workflows and design standardsResponsibilitiesLead architectural design development for new data center builds and retrofits from concept through construction documentation and site handoverCoordinate architectural scope with mechanical, electrical, structural, security, and controls systemsEnsure compliance with building codes, fire/life safety standards, and operational requirementsConduct design reviews covering space planning, circulation, headcount modeling, and standards alignmentReview and validate construction drawings and specifications from internal teams and external AEC vendorsServe as escalation point for site‑specific localization challenges and code adaptationManage external architecture and engineering partners across all design phasesUse Revit, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud to coordinate and review design documentationLeverage Python and Dynamo scripting to improve workflow automation and team efficiencyCommunicate technical architectural concepts clearly to leadership, construction teams, and global stakeholdersCompensation & BenefitsThe pay for this W‑2 position ranges from $96.15 - $120.19 per hour, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.Medical Coverage: Two United Healthcare plans (PPO and HDHP with HSA), with employer contributions toward premiums; coverage begins the 1st of the month after 60 days of employmentDental & Vision: United Healthcare dental with 100% preventive care coverage and vision benefits for exams, frames, lenses, or contactsWellbeing Support: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offering confidential counseling plus additional wellness and care navigation resourcesRetirement & Savings: 401(k) eligible after 30 days with automatic 6% enrollment (opt‑out available), 1% annual increases up to 10%, plus HSA with up to $480 employer contributionVoluntary Benefits: Employee‑paid accident insurance and critical illness coverage for major health eventsEqual Opportunity StatementFlux Resources values applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
