Architect II

Overview

VCBO Architecture is seeking an Architect II to contribute to the design and delivery of architectural projects within a collaborative studio environment. This role is based in our Utah office and is ideal for a mid-level professional with a strong foundation in design, documentation, and coordination within a collaborative team environment.

You’ll work with growing independence, contribute to project outcomes across multiple phases, and support both design quality and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to design, documentation, and coordination across multiple project phasesPrepare drawings and models for schematic design, design development, and construction documentationApply knowledge of building systems, codes, and construction methods in project workCoordinate with internal team members and consultants on defined project componentsSupport the preparation of client presentations, including graphics, renderings, and diagramsAssist in construction administration tasks, including RFIs, submittals, and addendaMaintain quality, organization, and consistency in deliverablesProvide guidance and support to junior staff

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or related fieldTypically 4–8 years of professional experienceLicensed Architect or actively pursuing licensure preferred, but not requiredProficiency in Revit; familiarity with additional design tools (SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite) a plusWorking knowledge of building codes, construction documentation, and coordination practicesStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively
