Architect II Job Posting (Charlotte, NC) – Boulder Associates Architects Be a part of a growing design firm with the opportunity to make a difference in peoples lives through thoughtful design. BA is an architecture and interior design firm that is a leader in healthcare, life sciences, workplace, and early learning facilities. We provide architecture and interior design services from thriving offices in Charlotte, Boulder, Dallas, Irvine, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sacramento, Seattle, and San Francisco. Successful candidates will manage healthcare architecture projects across all phases from programming through construction administration. Duties & Responsibilities: * Provide design leadership and technical expertise to determine project requirements for scope, schedule, budget, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs, and completion times * Provide professional architectural consultation in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects * Independently apply advanced architectural concepts and designs * Carry out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures * Coordinate design work with internal team, consultants, clients and regulatory agencies * Provide technical guidance to less experienced architects * Manage & lead projects * Miscellaneous duties as assigned Required Experience: * Licensed Architect with 8-10 years of professional experience * Portfolio of work that demonstrates excellence in design thinking * Experience leading and mentoring junior staff * Experience with project management and juggling multiple projects * Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills * Ability to effectively communicate issues and concerns to stakeholders, vendors and project team members Preferred Experience: * Senior living and behavioral health project experience * Commitment to promoting equitable, diverse and inclusive business practices * Experience in applying Lean or Agile principles to design and construction * LEED accreditation, EDAC certification * Commitment to promoting sustainable business practices Physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation: * Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, phone and perform repetitive motion (keyboard); writing (notetaking); reading and analyzing written material * Ability to sit for long periods; stand, sit, reach, bend, lift up to thirty (30) lbs * Ability to express or exchange ideas to impart information to the public and internal employees and to convey detailed instructions accurately and quickly We also offer employees a flexible work environment, paid relocation, and a full benefits package including (but not limited to) medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, a 401-k plan with an employer match, and paid vacation, sick, holiday, and volunteer time.
