This includes, but is not limited to: Support senior architect and practice lead with the management and development of Spicer Group’s Development and Buildings Business UnitShall serve as subject matter expert (SME) and co-developer with senior staff for the development and growth of Spicer Group’s architectural departmentCollaborate with senior architect and practice lead to develop and achieve AMEP group workload and utilization metricsSupport senior architect to delegate work to architectural and engineering technical staffCapable of leading and managing a parallel operating architectural and engineering production structureOversee AMEP group project deliverables ensuring high-quality execution and adherence to deadlines and budgetsInitiate new projects, drafts proposals, collaborates with existing and prospective clients, and supervise projects from the programming phase through construction project completionServes as architectural project manager and manages clients, projects, and staffCommunicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, and present design proposals for approvalDevelop client relationships and new project leads and participates in company promotional activitiesEstablish and manage project budgets, reviews invoices, and monitor project metricsConduct design reviews at project milestones. Meets with key stakeholders during those reviews to gather their inputCollaborate with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements and timelines are metProvide specialized technical assistance in connection with particular building types, components, materials, elements, or building codesDevelop architectural designs from conceptual stages through to detailed construction documentsPrepare and manage architectural documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reportsHelp senior staff to oversee and delegate work to architectural and engineering staffAbility to mentor junior staffAdheres to project schedules and provides high-level design oversight and productionPrepare Preliminary Opinion of Cost (POC) documents throughout the design process for client review and adjust designs to fit the client’s budget as neededDevelop construction specifications and contract documents for biddingEnsure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standardsIntegrate sustainable design principles into architectural projects to promote energy efficiency and environmental responsibilityProduce feasibility and/or environmental impact studies, assist in site selection by reviewing ordinances, evaluating environmental impact, and where applicable, social impactConduct site visits to monitor the progress of construction and ensure the quality of workmanship and materials Completed Bachelor degree or Master degree in architectureCurrent professional architectural licensure in Michigan; Note that other state reciprocity may be requestedFully capable of efficient Code and guideline analysis (NFPA, MBC, MRCEB in conjunction with MMC, MPC, AND NEC) and correct implementation of Codes for architectural productionSkilled in architectural design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp)Jointly leads the development and implementation of RevitProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe creative suite, Lumion, and Blue Beam RevueStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to think critically and provide creative solutions to complex design challengesDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentMeticulous attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work For more information regarding our firm and/or this position, please visit the Spicer Group website at www.spicergroup.com.
