Architect, Mobile Services

This leadership role will be responsible for leading the software architecture design of mobile services and applications in the mobile internet ecosystem. The ideal candidate is an expert in architecting Android based mobile services with trackable successful records. The architect works closely with the engineering team leaders, system architect, and product/program managers to architect, evaluate, coordinate, and directly contribute to TCL’s advanced products. On the other hand, the architect works closely with cloud computing and services team to bridge the cloud intelligence with terminal design. The architect must be multi-disciplined and have good communication skills and trained documentation capabilities.

Responsibilities:

Lead the design, documentation and communication of high-level software architecture for next generation smart mobile devices
Work closely with the engineering team, system architecture, and product/program managers to conceptualize new products in the roadmap
Coordinate and directly contribute to software implementation and optimization
Perform detailed technical analyses and trend/challenge studies
Constantly research the technical alternatives and develop strategies to succeed
Constantly evaluate new technologies, ideas, concepts, and designs to optimize the user experience of the mobile devices and services

Qualification:

Strong background in leading/architecting Android based Smartphone or tablet software design
Deep understanding of smart mobile services and applications
Familiar with web-based technology and cloud computing
Technical expert in software/firmware and systems architecture
Sensitive to new technology ideas
Enthusiastic and engaging team player
Professional/polished communicator

Requirements:

MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering major preferred
8+ years experiences in mobile device or service related industries
6+ years software development experiences on mobile platform
3+ years software architect experiences in mobile device development
Familiar with cloud computing and cloud-based services
Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills
Bilingual (English and Chinese) capability is preferred
