Architect - Office of the City Engineer

The Architect will oversee all activities and personnel involved in the implementation of projects and contracts for which they are assigned including but not limited to design, coordination, scheduling, construction, budget and construction management and compliance. Architects apply professional architectural knowledge and skills to the design and construction of City architectural projects. Three years of experience in the practice of architecture.Bachelor's degree in architecture or architectural engineering.Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.Must be registered as an Architect at time of hiring with registration in the State of Arizona obtained by the end of the twelve (12) month probationary period.All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Contract negotiations.Monitoring and administering design and construction contracts.Project management and design of various governmental or municipal projects.Planning, managing, overseeing, coordinating, and implementing engineering and/or architectural design and construction projects.
