Job Overview As an Architect/Engineer Specialist, GS-0808-12, you will play a crucial role in planning and executing architecture and engineering functions that support essential operations, training, and readiness missions for the Air National Guard. Key Responsibilities - This is a selective overview of your duties: Lead the acquisition, construction, maintenance, repair, and operation of real property facilities.Provide strategic management and engineering support for facility operations.Oversee services such as snow removal, pest control, and fire prevention.Create or guide the development of architectural drawings, specifications, and cost assessments.Review and validate architectural designs for feasibility and code compliance.Direct and coordinate architectural and engineering initiatives with authority.Utilize engineering principles to tackle civil, mechanical, electrical, or general engineering challenges.Analyze program documents to determine facility needs and requirements.Serve as a technical consultant in meetings with architectural and engineering firms.Provide clear technical guidance on engineering standards to team members.Analyze operational trends to anticipate future facility and engineering needs.Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve design and construction issues.Identify challenges and engage with leadership on solutions and corrective actions.Develop engineering solutions for complex technical issues beyond the capabilities of staff.Adjust project priorities to align with evolving mission objectives.Plan, schedule, and allocate resources for engineering projects and facility initiatives.Supervise the development and timely execution of maintenance and construction plans.Manage the acquisition and allocation of funding, personnel, equipment, and materials for projects.Ensure proper record-keeping for drawings, project files, and budget data.Build and maintain strong working relationships with base and tenant organizations.
