About the Opportunity

A nationally recognized architectural firm specializing in historic preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, and adaptive reuse is seeking an Architectural Associate to join its Kansas City team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career architect to gain hands-on experience across commercial, government, historic preservation, restoration, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects.

You’ll work closely with Project Managers and experienced architects while contributing to projects from design and documentation through field investigations and construction administration.

What You’ll Do

Support Project Managers with design and predesign project productionProduce construction documents and technical drawingsPerform site visits, field investigations, and existing-building documentationAssist with Historic Structure Reports and condition assessmentsSupport preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, renovation, and adaptive reuse projectsParticipate in field verification, measurements, photography, and 3D scanningAssist with specifications and technical documentationCoordinate project details with architects, consultants, and project teamsSupport construction administration on applicable projectsAssist with proposals and government RFQ responsesWork across multiple projects and project teamsTravel to project sites throughout the Midwest and nationally

What We’re Looking For

1–4 years of professional architecture experiencePrevious architectural firm experience; relevant internship experience may be consideredBachelor of ArchitectureCommercial architecture experienceHistoric preservation or restoration experience is preferredProficiency in RevitProficiency with Adobe productsStrong communication and teamwork skillsExcellent attention to detail and organizationWillingness to travel for project needs
