Architectural Design & Construction Coordinator

Why This Role Stands OutOwner-side influence: Work from the owner's perspective with direct visibility into project priorities and decisions.Early-stage impact: Join while design and execution strategies are still being shaped, not after the major decisions have already been made.Scale and complexity: Contribute to a significant greenfield program with sophisticated architectural, structural, building-system, and operational interfaces.Single-site stability: Build deep project knowledge without a recurring travel schedule.Compensation: Receive an above-market base salary and competitive total rewards package aligned with the scope of the assignment.What You Will OwnDesign and ConstructabilityReview architectural drawings and specifications for constructability, completeness, interdisciplinary coordination, and alignment with owner standards.Confirm design solutions support intended operations, maintainability, life safety, accessibility, and long-term facility performance.Participate in design reviews with architects and engineering consultants; document decisions, risks, and required follow-up.Evaluate value-engineering proposals while protecting design intent, quality, durability, and operational requirements.Review shop drawings, submittals, mockups, product data, and architectural details; monitor design changes through the project lifecycle.Coordinate architectural work with structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process-utility, fire-protection, controls, and specialty systems.Construction Administration and Field ExecutionPerform routine field observations and verify architectural construction conforms to approved plans, specifications, quality requirements, and owner expectations.Identify workmanship deficiencies, incomplete work, and emerging field conflicts; coordinate practical corrective action and verify completion.Review and help resolve Requests for Information, architect supplemental instructions, field directives, and contractor change requests.Develop coordinated solutions for on-site interference issues and support implementation in the field.Participate in pre-inspection reviews, formal inspections, punch-list development, turnover activities, and closeout inspections.Track corrective actions arising from quality observations and subcontractor safety violations, working with quality and safety teams to confirm implementation.Project and Schedule CoordinationCoordinate among the owner, architect, engineering consultants, construction manager, general contractor, trade contractors, quality team, safety team, and commissioning team.Facilitate issue resolution, maintain action-item logs, track open design decisions, and keep accountable parties aligned on next steps.Monitor architectural progress against the construction schedule and identify potential delays, sequencing conflicts, and long-lead procurement risks.Participate in weekly coordination meetings, track milestone completion, and support recovery planning when schedule impacts occur.What You BringBachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.Substantial experience - typically seven or more years - in architectural construction, design coordination, field coordination, construction administration, or owner-representative work on complex projects.Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change documentation.Working knowledge of constructability, interdisciplinary coordination, building-envelope and interior systems, quality control, field issue resolution, and construction sequencing.Clear communication, disciplined documentation, strong organization, and the confidence to drive issues to closure across multiple stakeholders.A collaborative, field-oriented approach and a strong commitment to quality and safety.Preferred BackgroundExperience on large-scale industrial, advanced manufacturing, mission-critical, life-sciences, controlled-environment, or similarly complex capital projects.Familiarity with BIM coordination tools, document-control platforms, scheduling software, and field-management systems.Experience working across owner, architect/engineer, construction-manager, general-contractor, or trade-contractor organizations.Confidential process: The hiring organization and project details will be shared with qualified candidates during an introductory conversation.
