Our ideal team member is passionate and progressively seeking more responsibilities to expand their expertise.ResponsibilitiesWork under the direction of the Studio and Sector Design Directors to set expectations, lead the design process and challenge the project team to deliver exceptional and relevant innovative design solutionsCollaborate with other designers and managers in the studio to maintain the firm design principlesLead the development of effective and innovative designs utilizing the firms design approach and innovation toolsPromotes design excellence throughout the projects in the studioImplements the firms design process and encourage the use of available innovation tools to achieve the firms design and brand objectivesWorks with PIC / Studio Design Director to augment the project team throughout the project life being available beyond design for CD design intent interpretations and solutions as well as CA troubleshootingPresents designs to clients, works to develop and maintain presentation skillsIs an industry expert in major building systems and conveys this knowledge to the teamIs an expert on code implications and requirements for several major building/occupancy typesOversees the work of the Project DesignersDemonstrates knowledge of resources and materials and their applicationDirects the production of design materials that meet project objectives, including functional concepts, images, schedules and budgetsCultivates success through high level design and planning, facility requirements analysis, conceptual design and systems integration and teamworkTakes responsibility for ensuring codes, regulations and industry standards are applied correctlyPossesses excellent programming and strategic planning skillsPromotes technical and professional excellence throughout the teamMaintains knowledge regarding industry trends, professional practice, regulatory and construction practice and issuesRecognizes needs and seeks out solutions for use of new technologies relating to project production and communicationsMentors and provides guidance to project team to achieve objectivesMentors team members and supports individual development by providing coaching, feedback and reinforcementBuilds the firm’s practice by inspiring and motivating Project DesignersQualificationsThis role is an in-office positionProfessional degree in Architecture or Interior Design10+ years in the Architectural design industry; Education project experience requiredBuilt and published track record of exceptional design work in at least one or more of Corgan’s market sectors/areas of practiceFamiliarity with current global design trends in one or more of Corgan’s sectorsA track record of public speaking in their area of expertiseHave a demonstrated track record of consistently creating (and leading teams doing) high quality workPursues design awards and publications of work for which they were primary playersDemonstrated leaders, collaborators and mentors within their respective studioCandidates will have a track record of successful sustainable design methods and a long-standing use and familiarity with AIA’s 2030 DDXProficient with Revit, Word, Excel and other graphics-related programsExperience with design and implementation, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up or other 3‑D modeling programs is preferredThis position is designated as full-time on‑site and requires the employee to be physically present at the assigned office location Monday through Friday during standard business hours .
