The architectural designer will work and interact with a small team of professionals in a collaborative office setting. Develop building design and construction drawings with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit softwareStay current on materials, building technologies, and construction methodsSelecting and evaluating building products and materialsEnsure that designs comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulationsCoordinate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals involved in the design processReview construction materials and techniques to ensure they meet quality standardsCollaborate with clients to determine project requirements and design parametersAssist in the development and presentation of design proposals and designs.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Final year of or has completed a Bachelor of Architecture or Master’s in Architecture from an accredited program.Strong design skills and ability to communicate design ideas clearly.Attention to detail, motivated, and self-reliant.Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit Design software, and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.Arctic or northern design experience is desirable.Understanding of building materials and methods.Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, construction workers, and other professionals involved in the design and construction process.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Critical thinking skills.Preferred Qualifications: Visual acuity to read, analyze, and produce detailed drawings and specifications. Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
