Architectural Designer

About the position

Warehaus is seeking an experienced Architectural Designer to contribute to design development and technical documentation across a diverse range of projects, including commercial and industrial facilities, renovations, historic preservation, and adaptive reuse. The position involves developing architectural drawings, models, and construction documents in collaboration with project architects, managers, engineers, consultants, and other team members.\n\nThe designer will participate throughout the project process, from schematic design through construction administration, contributing ideas, resolving technical challenges, and taking ownership of assigned project work. The role also includes coordinating design intent, assisting with permitting and regulatory approvals, and managing assigned tasks within project schedules and budgets.\n\nWarehaus is a 40-person architecture and engineering firm based in York, Pennsylvania. Its multidisciplinary teams work on commercial, residential, industrial, institutional, and municipal projects in Central Pennsylvania and beyond.

Responsibilities

Develop architectural drawings and construction documents from schematic design through construction documentation.Prepare models, renderings, diagrams, and presentation materials to communicate design concepts.Translate design intent into accurate, coordinated construction documents.Apply knowledge of building materials, construction methods, codes, and regulatory requirements.Participate in design discussions, charrettes, and project coordination meetings.Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and other project team members.Support construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawing reviews, and punch lists.Assist with permitting and regulatory approval processes.Maintain organized, accurate project files and drawing sets throughout each phase.Manage assigned design and production tasks within project schedules and budgets.Requirements

3–5 years of professional architectural experience on commercial, industrial, institutional, renovation, or adaptive reuse projects.Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.Proficiency in architectural detailing, design development, and construction documentation.Strong understanding of building materials, construction methods, and applicable building codes.Experience with construction administration processes, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and punch lists.Familiarity with local and state permitting and regulatory approval processes.Ability to communicate design intent and coordinate effectively with project teams and consultants.Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.Nice-to-haves
