Role Description The Architectural Designer II is a full-time, on-site role based in El Segundo, CA. This role involves supporting project design from early concept through construction documents, including developing drawings, 3D models, and presentation materials under the guidance of senior staff. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing plans, elevations, and details; coordinating design information with consultants; and assisting with code research and permitting documentation. The designer will participate in internal design reviews, contribute to material and product selection, and help refine project standards and templates. The role also includes attending client and consultant meetings, responding to redlines, and ensuring that deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with the firm’s design vision.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in architectural design and documentation tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar), and the ability to produce clear, coordinated drawings and models.Experience with visualization and presentation software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Enscape, Lumion, or similar) to communicate design concepts through diagrams, renderings, and layouts.Solid understanding of building codes, construction methods, and detailing, with experience preparing construction documents and coordinating with consultants.Effective collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to work in a team setting, respond to feedback, and present design ideas to colleagues and clients.Relevant academic background such as a professional degree in Architecture or closely related field, with 3–5 years of experience in an architectural practice.Ability to manage time, handle multiple deadlines, and take ownership of assigned tasks in a fast-paced studio environment.Interest in contemporary design, sustainable strategies, and materials research; experience with California projects or local codes is a plus.Eligibility to work on-site in El Segundo, CA; professional licensure or progress toward licensure is preferred but not required.
