The position is full-time (35 hour work week minimum) and in person at NJHPO’s offices in Trenton, NJ. Coordinates planning, fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting for the HPO/OEM Historic Architecture Reconnaissance Survey project. Conducts desktop review of previously surveyed communities to establish recommendations for updates to prior data, additional fieldwork, or Plans and schedules survey activities, including vehicle reservations, staff schedules and assignments, target community selection, and survey logistics for each fieldwork session. Coordinates internal and external survey data review, and integrates updates into initial and final survey recommendations. Knowledge of New Jersey architectural history Knowledge of architectural survey methodology Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems and/or GPS data collection Familiarity with database management and use of online data systems Ability to use digital cameras and photograph architectural resources Ability to conduct architectural field survey Ability to learn new information quickly and adapt to changing conditions and priorities Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with good organizational skills Valid drivers license Additionally, preference will be given to candidates that have demonstrated professional experience with architectural survey fieldwork, analysis, and reporting.
