At COAR, Job Captains work closely with the internal and extended project team to create design and construction documents in Revit. Responsibilities:Use Revit and Enscape to create renderings and VR walkthroughsPrepare drawings in Revit that adhere to office standardsAssist project team/manager in developing construction documents for permitting, bidding and constructionParticipate in multiple concurrent projects from start to finish during design development and construction documents phasesDevelop and communicate design ideas and technical information related to the project including, but not limited to, design presentations, client meetings, detailing and hand sketchingAssist in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formatsUtilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their componentsAssist in site analysis, research of concept, benchmarks, typology, and precedentsProvide input to the design and construction schedule – communicate the technical implications of design decisionsResponsible for the development and coordination of the drawings and specifications including: program requirements, code and agency compliance, schedule commitments, product research, and building systemsOrganize and coordinate with the architectural and engineering team to execute the work in an orderly, timely, and coordinated mannerAttend project team and client meetings as requiredParticipate in value engineering and basic cost estimatingProvide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of the projectQualifications:Required:Working experience/proficiency in Revit, and Microsoft OfficeAbility to function comfortably, collaborate, communicate, gain trust, confidence, and deal effectively with a wide range of individuals including consultants, contractors, vendors, clients and the COAR Design Group teamAbility to conduct space planning, block planning, and adjacencies in coordination with the building programEfficiency in all phases of project development from schematic design through contract administrationBasic knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards is expectedAbility to work in a fast-paced design environment with concurrent projects and responsibilitiesPreferred:Ability to use Enscape or comparable software to produce photorealistic renderings and virtual reality walk throughsExperience with Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam Studio, Smartsheet, and ReviztoEducation And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field is preferred.
