Parallax is an architectural design and planning firm located in Culver City specializing in independent school buildings. Our office is a collaborative studio environment committed to creating distinctive high-performance architecture for educators. We have been serving schools in the Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley regions for over 30 years.

We are looking for a talented Architectural Job Captain to support planning and design work on several school projects. Key qualifications include demonstrated design talent and experience with the design of institutional projects. Excellent team-working and communication skills are a must as well as a solid working knowledge of Revit drawing software.

Specific Responsibilities

Develop architectural planning and design concepts for educational buildings under the direction of the Project PrincipalsSupport consultant meetings and design presentationsCoordinate architectural design and building systems with engineering consultantsSupervise project design drawing and detailing by junior production staffSupport work with City and/or County agencies to resolve code related issuesSupport the Project Manager throughout the project construction phase by answering design RFI’s and reviewing shop submittals

Qualifications

B-Arch from a U.S. College or UniversityAt least 6-10 years of professional experience developing institutional buildingsLicensure preferredWorking knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and BluebeamWorking knowledge/fluency in Revit for project design and detailingAbility to communicate clearly and conciselyFamiliarity with Los Angeles building and zoning codesKnowledge of construction materials, standards and detailsAbility to meet deadlinesLos Angeles area residentMust be authorized to work in the US

Compensation Package: The annual salary will be set based upon the successful applicant’s experience and demonstrated skill level.
