Swenson is a San Jose-based design-build firm with a rich history of delivering high-quality residential, mixed-use, and commercial developments across the Bay Area. As our architectural department continues to grow, we’re looking for a talented Job Captain to join our team and help bring our projects from concept through construction.

About the Role

As a Job Captain, you will work closely with a Project Architect to lead the production of detailed construction documents, coordinate with consultants, and solve technical and design challenges throughout the design and construction process.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and coordinate detailed construction documents using Revit
Resolve technical and design issues throughout project development
Coordinate with structural, MEP, civil, and other consultants
Ensure accuracy, code compliance, and constructability in documentation
Support construction administration as needed
Maintain quality control and meet project deadlines

Required Qualifications

Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from a NAAB-accredited program
Minimum 5 years of professional architectural experience
Proficiency in Revit is a must
Strong knowledge of California Building Codes
Demonstrated experience preparing full construction document sets
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Detail-oriented and proactive problem-solver
Experience in mixed-use, residential, or commercial projects preferred

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
