Architectural Millwork Fabricator

Position Summary

The Architectural Millwork Fabricator is responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and finishing preparation of custom commercial millwork products including reception desks, cabinetry, courtroom millwork, and built-in fixtures for commercial projects such as schools, hospitals, offices, and institutional facilities. This role requires the ability to accurately interpret shop drawings, fabricate components to specification, assemble products with precision, and work with a variety of finish materials including High Pressure Laminate (HPL), veneers, and related substrates.

This position works closely with shop leadership, CNC operators, finishing department, and installers to ensure products are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Fabricate and assemble high-quality custom commercial millwork products, including reception desks, courtroom millwork, built-in cabinetry, commercial casework, and architectural fixtures.

· Read and interpret shop drawings, cut lists, production documents, and material specifications to ensure accurate production.

· Select and apply materials such as High Pressure Laminate (HPL), veneers, wood substrates, and contact adhesive systems, performing veneer layup, matching, trimming, edging, and finishing to required quality standards.

· Safely and efficiently operate standard woodworking and fabrication equipment, including table saws, routers, sanders, drills, hand tools, laminate trimmers, and pneumatic tools.

· Assemble components with precision according to specifications and tolerances, then verify dimensions, fitment, grain alignment, and overall quality prior to finishing or installation.

· Support production workflow by monitoring material stock and reporting restocking needs.

· Assisting with staging, packaging, and loading of completed products.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while identifying production issues and communicating them promptly to supervisors or shop leadership.

· Collaborate effectively with CNC operators, shop foremen, project managers, and installers to meet project schedules and quality expectations.

Required Qualifications

Experience in commercial millwork, cabinetry, woodworking, laminate, or veneer work.Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and measurements.Experience working with HPL laminates, veneers, and contact adhesives.Knowledge of woodworking tools, equipment, and fabrication processes.Ability to accurately measure and maintain tight tolerances.Ability to lift materials and work in a physically active shop environment.Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality.Preferred Qualifications

Experience in architectural millwork or commercial casework manufacturing.Experience with veneer matching, layup, and pressing techniques.Familiarity with institutional or commercial construction projects.Forklift experience.OSHA or shop safety training.Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the workday.Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.Ability to safely operate shop equipment and power tools.Ability to work in a manufacturing and fabrication environment with exposure to dust, noise, adhesives, and finishing materials.Work Environment

This position works primarily in a woodworking and manufacturing shop environment involving machinery, wood products, veneers, laminates, adhesives, and production equipment. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
