Architectural Specifications Writer

ECS is seeking an experienced Specification Writer to join our Southwest Facilities team in Austin, TX. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a solid background in architecture or construction, strong technical expertise in specifications writing, and a passion for staying current on building technologies and industry trends. Ensure consultants receive and follow the most current specification formatting conventions.Perform product research; assist project designers with material and product selections.Prepare, assist, or coordinate with internal Project Architects and non-architectural disciplines such as structural engineering and landscape architecture in specifications and project manual preparation.Maintain awareness of evolving building technology, stay current on product developments, new materials, code changes, and industry trends to bring expertise to the project teams concerning product selections.Assist construction administration staff with the review of product submittals and evaluate substitution requests and make recommendations regarding compliance with specifications.Basic ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, produce results within a deadline, and work both independently and in a team environment.Host or attend project discussions with clients and follow up on reports as necessary.Other duties as required. CCS, LEED AP, or a licensed Architect or Engineer is a plus.If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.
