Assist architects in developing architectural designs and construction drawings.Review and interpret building codes, zoning by-laws, site requirements, and other technical documents to ensure compliance.Prepare detailed drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD or Revit.Support the preparation of project specifications, material quantity take-offs, and cost estimates based on design concepts and instructions.Develop 3D models and presentation drawings for architectural projects.Assist in preparing tender, bidding, and contract documents for construction projects.Coordinate drawings and technical information with architects, engineers, and contractors.May supervise or guide drafters and technicians involved in the preparation of drawings.May assist in monitoring construction progress and reviewing work to ensure it meets design specifications.Applicant must have a Diploma in Architectural Technology or Architecture. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, along with a good understanding of the Ontario Building Code and permit requirements, is required. Experience in preparing construction documents and permit drawings as well as coordinating drawings with structural, mechanical and electrical consultants is an asset. Strong organizational, communication, and time- management skills are required. Preference will be given to candidates who are eligible for, or have the ability to obtain, registration with the Ontario Association of Architects.
