Title: Asset Management / CMDB Architect
Location: San Jose, CA (Hybrid, 3 Days Onsite per Week)
Duration: 3-6 Month Contract (Extension Possible)
Compensation: $100-130/hr

We're partnering with a leading publicly traded cybersecurity and cloud technology company that is transforming how enterprises secure and manage modern IT environments. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly visible initiative focused on improving enterprise asset management, inventory accuracy, and CMDB maturity across a global technology organization.
The team is looking for an experienced Asset Management / CMDB Architect who can assess the current environment, identify improvement opportunities, and help build a scalable, sustainable asset management strategy across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
Evaluate and improve the organization's CMDB architecture, processes, integrations, and data qualityBuild and maintain accurate technology asset inventoriesIdentify inventory gaps, duplicate records, reconciliation issues, and data inconsistenciesImprove asset discovery, tracking, governance, and lifecycle management processesEstablish visibility across public cloud and on-premises environmentsPartner with infrastructure, security, and operations teams to improve asset data accuracyRecommend and implement practical solutions to strengthen the overall asset management ecosystem
What We're Looking For
Architect-level experience in IT Asset Management (ITAM) and/or CMDB environmentsStrong experience with ServiceNow CMDB or comparable enterprise asset management platformsExperience managing or designing asset inventories spanning both cloud and on-premises infrastructureStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and data quality expertiseAbility to assess complex environments, identify root causes, and implement scalable solutionsExcellent stakeholder communication and consulting skills
Nice to Have
Hands-on ServiceNow Discovery, Asset Discovery, or Service Mapping experienceExperience with asset reconciliation, normalization, and governance initiativesBackground within SaaS, cloud, or technology-focused organizationsFamiliarity with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud asset inventories
