BIM Application Specialist

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture or a related field, or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience5+ years of relevant professional experience in the A/E/C industry

Exempt/Intermediate Level

As a BIM Application Specialist, you’ll support Lake Flato’s Design Technology team by providing application support, developing and documenting BIM best practices, training BIM users at all levels, and partnering with project teams to set up and maintain effective BIM strategies for project deliverables. This position is directed by the firm’s BIM Manager.

Responsibilities

Provides support for all design applications (Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino)Develops, documents, and communicates best practices for BIM technologiesDevelops and conducts training sessions for all levels of BIM usersCreates and manages Revit templates and family contentCreates and maintains BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud project sitesInstructs and assists project teams in setting up models to comply with office standards and best practicesEngages with project teams to strategize, employ, and maintain an effective BIM strategy for project deliverablesGraphically illustrates and verbally communicates analysis concepts in a clear and effective manner

Competencies

Knowledge And Understanding Of

All aspects of professional architectural services, from master planning and schematic design through construction documents and construction administrationBIM technologies, workflows, and office BIM standardsExpert-level Revit family creation

Ability To

Develop and effectively teach new processes, workflows, and software skillsUtilize AI tools and automation across all aspects of the design processBuild collaborative relationships with project teams

Skills

Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and SketchUpExperience with BIM 360 Pro, Enscape, and NavisworksParametric and/or generative design scripting using Python, Grasshopper, and/or Dynamo (Desired)Strong organization and project managementInterpersonal and customer serviceStrong written and verbal communication
