CTG is seeking to fill a Business Architect opening for our client.

Location: Buffalo, NY (Preferred) / Remote (Will be expected to travel to Buffalo, NY every 4–6 weeks with Monday through Thursday in office)
Duration: 6 months

Overview:
The Business Architect will define and evolve enterprise business architecture to ensure alignment between strategy, operating model, and execution. This role translates business strategy into capability models, value streams, and transformation roadmaps that guide investment decisions and ensure delivery of measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Translate business strategy into capability maps, value streams, and execution roadmapsDefine and maintain current-state and target-state business architecture modelsIdentify capability gaps and prioritize investments based on business valueSupport portfolio planning, funding decisions, and enterprise transformation initiativesPartner with executives, product teams, and enterprise architecture to ensure alignmentDevelop business-driven requirements for transformation programsFacilitate cross-functional alignment across business and technology stakeholdersEnsure traceability from strategy through capabilities, initiatives, and outcomesEstablish and enforce business architecture standards and governanceCollaborate with Enterprise, Solution, and Data Architects on cross-domain alignmentKey Skills & Experience:

Business capability modeling and value stream mappingEnterprise architecture and operating model designStrategic planning, portfolio management, and investment prioritizationStrong stakeholder facilitation and executive communication skillsSystems thinking and enterprise analysisExperience in large, complex enterprise environments (financial services preferred)Required Experience:

10+ years in business architecture, strategy, consulting, or transformation rolesExperience developing capability maps, value streams, and operating modelsBachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related fieldPreferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a related disciplineFinancial services industry experienceCertifications such as Certified Business Architect (CBA) or TOGAF TOGAFFamiliarity with Business Architecture Guild / BIZBOK practices Business Architecture GuildSupervisory Responsibilities:

Individual contributor role; no direct reportsMay provide informal leadership across cross-functional teamsExcellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
