The CAD Technician is part of a civil engineering design team involved in a variety public infrastructure and transportation improvement projects (i.e., streets, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, etc.). The position is a technical support role in our Katy or The Woodlands office.
### Responsibilities
* Using established CAD standards to prepare electronic drawings from minimum marked-up plans and/or verbal instruction by engineers/designers
* Oversight of CAD systems management, refinement and evolution of standards
* Organizing and scheduling your own work to accomplish project goals within established budgets and schedules
* Coordination with engineers and other design team members
* Plotting and assembling construction plans
**Requirements**
At a minimum, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:
**Education/Certification**
* High School graduate or GED required
* Post-high school technical coursework, certification or degree in computer drafting/design or related field preferred
**Professional**
* Responsive and results-oriented in service to clients
* 1-4 years of civil CAD experience and understanding of a variety of projects including public infrastructure (i.e., streets, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, sidewalks etc.)
* Proficient in the latest version of Bentey Microstation and OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members
* Ability to quickly adapt to and adopt new CAD standards and procedures
* Commitment to quality in the design and presentation of drawings
