Position: Job Captain William Duff Architects (WDA) is seeking a Job Captain with strong technical and documentation experience to join our Hospitality Studio. This role will support a growing portfolio of elevated Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) projects in the Pacific Northwest, working closely with project leadership to deliver high-quality architectural documentation and coordination.WDA is an award-winning architecture firm known for thoughtful, design-driven work across hospitality, workplace, residential, retail, and community sectors. Built as a people-based practice, our work reflects the creative energy of our team and our commitment to architecture that enhances the human experience.We are looking for someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture, takes pride in producing well-organized drawing sets, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.About the RoleThe Job Captain will play an important role supporting a major hospitality/QSR client program , assisting project architects and project managers in delivering multiple projects simultaneously.remote-friendly , with occasional travel for site visits and project meetings (typically once per month or less).Project DocumentationProduce and coordinate accurate and well-organized construction document setsDevelop architectural details and drawing packages in collaboration with project architects and project managersEnsure consistency and coordination across drawings and consultant documentsTechnical CoordinationCoordinate with consultants, including structural, MEP, and specialty vendorsAssist with code research, product research, and technical detailingSupport permitting and agency approval processesConstruction Administration SupportAssist with RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation updatesParticipate in site coordination and field observation as neededHelp maintain design intent throughout the construction processWork closely with project architects and project managers across multiple projectsContribute to internal design and coordination discussionsMaintain organized project documentation and communication across teamsQualifications4–8+ years of professional architectural experienceExperience working on commercial, retail, restaurant, or hospitality projectsStrong construction documentation and detailing skillsAbility to manage multiple deadlines and projectsStrong organizational and communication skillsCollaborative mindset and attention to detailTechnical SkillsProficiency in Revit requiredExperience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative SuiteFamiliarity with building codes and permitting processesStrong written and verbal communication skillsEducationBachelor’s or Master’s degree in ArchitectureAbout WDAFor over 25 years, WDA has delivered architecture rooted in thoughtful design, craft, and collaboration.
