Custom Home Architect (License Not Required)

Minimum 5+ years of residential design or construction experience, preferably including remodeling and custom home projects.Proficiency in 3D drafting and design software (such as Chief Architect, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms).Strong understanding of residential structural systems, building materials, and construction methods.Experience with construction documentation, plan development, and design detailing.Ability to interpret and apply building codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines.Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.Strong communication and client relationship skills, with the ability to clearly explain design concepts and technical details.Experience collaborating with contractors, engineers, and project teams throughout the design and construction process.Experience with contract documentation, design agreements, or project-related contract coordination preferred.Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods while performing design and drafting tasks.Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials, samples, or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.Ability to travel to job sites, client meetings, and project locations as needed.Ability to walk through construction sites, including navigating uneven terrain, stairs, and partially completed structures.Ability to visually review plans, drawings, and construction details for accuracy and precision.Ability to perform occasional field measurements, inspections, and site observations.Must possess a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and meet company insurance requirements.Adherence to maintaining a substance-free work environment.Duties & Responsibilities Design Utilize a minimum of 5 years of residential design experience to create innovative, functional, and structurally sound residential building designs.Develop conceptual drawings, detailed plans, and construction-ready documents using industry-standard design software.Collaborate with clients and sales associates to transform ideas into feasible design solutions that meet client goals and budget expectations.Incorporate an understanding and appreciation of historical and architectural design styles into residential design concepts where appropriate.Assist in selecting materials, finishes, and design elements that enhance overall project quality and aesthetic appeal.Contract and Project Coordination Participate in the development and review of project scopes, design agreements, and construction contracts.Assist in contract management, ensuring project scope, design deliverables, and documentation align with contractual agreements.Collaborate with sales teams, project managers, and construction staff to ensure design intent and contractual obligations are clearly understood and executed.Support change order documentation and design modifications as needed throughout the project lifecycle.Problem Analysis and Resolution Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and project milestones are met.Maintain organized design files, documentation, and project records.Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and construction teams to ensure effective project workflow.Permits and Approvals
