Data Architect – OBIS Modernization Project

The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in large-scale database systems, Azure-based data platforms, ETL engineering, SQL, Spark, Python, and Scala while supporting secure, compliant, and high-performing enterprise data solutions. Define enterprise logical and physical data models for large-scale data environmentsDevelop source-to-target mappings and transformation strategies for enterprise systemsDesign Operational Data Stores (ODS), data warehouses, and data mart structuresEstablish data standards, metadata rules, naming conventions, and governance proceduresDefine and maintain data quality rules, validation standards, and lineage processesLead enterprise data ingestion, transformation, and data distribution strategiesOptimize database performance, indexing, batch processing, error handling, and recovery strategiesSupport high-performance ETL pipeline development and enterprise data integrationPartner with developers, analysts, architects, and stakeholders to align enterprise data architecture needsProduce technical documentation for models, mappings, governance standards, and audit readiness Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for enterprise data architecture best practicesAdvise teams on integration patterns, modeling strategies, and technology selectionSupport regulatory, privacy, traceability, and compliance requirementsMaintain secure and compliant data governance frameworks including RBAC implementationComplete department security awareness requirements and background verification activitiesSupport continuous improvements in enterprise data management and modernization efforts Minimum 7 years managing large and complex DBMS environmentsMinimum 7 years of ETL development and data engineering experienceMinimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure PurviewStrong SQL development and optimization expertiseExperience building scalable and high-performance ETL pipelinesExpertise in Spark, Python, and/or Scala for data processingStrong understanding of Azure data governance, RBAC, and security protocolsExperience implementing secure, compliant ETL and enterprise data solutionsStrong enterprise data modeling, lineage, governance, and optimization experience Strong expertise in enterprise data architecture and modernization initiatives preferredExperience advising teams on data modeling, architecture, and integration strategies preferredExperience supporting secure, regulated, or compliance-driven environments preferredStrong documentation, governance, and stakeholder collaboration skills preferredExperience with AWS warehouse environments, AWS S3, and Data Sync preferredKnowledge of compliance frameworks involving CJI, HIPAA, and PII preferred
