Design Associate I

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. GMC has an opening for a Design Associate to support on-going projects in our Augusta, GA office. Applicant should be well organized and able to work within a design system, demonstrate ability to solve problems, a good communicator willing and able to network with outside consultants and AHJs to assist in driving the project. Responsibilities Bachelors Degree in Architecture or equivalent from an accredited college preferredMinimum of 5+ years of technical and construction document production experience – retail experience preferredUnderstanding of building codes, construction methods, building systems, and engineering systemsWorking knowledge and practice skills of architectural product systemsWorking knowledge of A&E work standards, processes, and policiesDemonstrated ability to work under pressure, to manage deadlines and prioritize assignmentsUnderstanding of the tasks associated with the preparation of construction documents
