Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Architecture and Engineering to lead a dynamic team supporting a long-standing food distribution client. The ideal candidate will oversee all architectural and engineering efforts, fostering innovation and growth both within the client’s organization and across our team. This role offers an opportunity to drive key initiatives, develop scalable solutions, and contribute to the client’s ambition to double their size over the next three years. The position is a hybrid work arrangement based out of the Dallas office, with daily on-site collaboration required.

Requirements

Minimum of 10+ years in software design, development, and enterprise-level architectureProven experience with AWS, serverless technologies (Lambda, API Gateway, SNS), and cloud-native solutionsStrong background in .NET Core, C#, Angular, Entity Framework Core, PostgreSQL, and JSONb data managementExpertise in CI/CD practices, including tools like SonarQube, DataDog, Terraform, and TDDLeadership skills with a track record of managing large, diverse technical teams including onshore, nearshore, and offshore engineersExcellent client relationship management skills, especially with C-level executivesAbility to lead technical strategy, foster innovation, and drive team performanceAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture and engineering efforts for a large, complex enterprise environmentDevelop and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance technical solutions aligned with business goalsManage and grow a technical team across onshore, nearshore, and offshore locationsBuild strong relationships with client leaders, including IT and executive teams, serving as a trusted advisorProvide technical mentorship, guiding team members in best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvementOversee daily team operations, objectives, and project milestonesCollaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical strategiesDrive innovation, adopting new technologies and practices to support client growth and scalabilityEnsure technical documentation, testing, and deployment processes meet high standards
