Director of Optical Network Architecture

Leading a team of senior network architects, the full-time Director of Optical Network Architecture will define and drive the strategic architecture and technology roadmap for optical transport and wavelength networks, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Define and maintain the long-term architectural vision for optical transport and wavelength infrastructure Provide executive-level technical leadership across DWDM, ROADM, and coherent optics initiatives Lead and mentor a team of network architects, ensuring alignment of architecture strategy with business priorities Required qualifications Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline Minimum of twelve years of experience in telecommunications or service provider environments focused on optical transport At least five years of leadership experience managing senior technical teams or strategic engineering organizations Expert-level knowledge of DWDM, ROADM technologies, coherent optics, and transport protocols Experience working with optical transport vendors such as Ciena, Nokia, and Infinera
