DotNet Application Architect

Role Overview The Applications Architect is responsible for leading the design, development, modernization, integration, and support of enterprise .NET applications and critical business systems. This role serves as a senior technical leader and subject matter expert, providing architectural guidance, mentoring development teams, and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Application Architecture & Development Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level applications and integration solutionsProvide architectural leadership for complex, mission-critical systems and enhancementsDevelop scalable and reusable application frameworks, components, and servicesSupport .NET and .NET Core applications across the enterpriseDesign and implement robust n-tier application architecturesDrive modernization initiatives for existing applications and platformsSystem Integration & Technical Solutions Design and implement integrations across enterprise applications and external systemsDevelop custom APIs, web services, interfaces, and data exchange solutionsSupport multilingual application frameworks and enterprise communication platformsEnsure seamless integration between business-critical applications and databasesProvide expertise regarding application interoperability and enterprise architectureTechnical Leadership & Architecture Governance Serve as a senior technical expert across multiple technologies and business domainsParticipate in architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical governance activitiesConduct code reviews and enforce development standards and best practicesSupport technical change control initiatives including estimates, code refactoring, and solution reviewsEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategiesCloud, DevOps & Automation Design and support Azure-based cloud-native application solutionsDevelop and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines, release automation, and build processesManage branching, merging, source control strategies, and deployment workflowsImplement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practicesSupport environment configuration and deployment automation across development, testing, and productionProduction Support & Operational Excellence Support production deployments and troubleshoot complex deployment issuesResolve high-severity application and system issuesParticipate in system enhancement, maintenance, and operational support activitiesProvide root-cause analysis and remediation for business-critical incidentsMaintain availability as a technical escalation resourceData & Database Development Design, optimize, and support Oracle and SQL Server databasesPerform SQL tuning and performance optimization activitiesDevelop data access strategies and enterprise data integration solutionsSupport relational database modeling and data architecture initiativesAI-Assisted Development & Innovation Utilize approved enterprise AI tools including GitHub Copilot Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot in accordance with organizational policiesIncorporate AI-assisted development practices to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentationReview, validate, and refine AI-generated output to ensure quality, accuracy, security, and complianceIdentify and mitigate risks related to AI-assisted software developmentImplement secure and responsible AI development practices aligned with enterprise governance standardsMentorship & Collaboration Serve as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and technical leaderCollaborate with business stakeholders, architects, developers, QA teams, and project managersProvide technical guidance to development teams and junior staffSupport organizational change and continuous improvement initiativesRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent work experience15 or more years of experience designing and developing enterprise applications using .NET technologies15 or more years of experience with C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework, and .NET Core/.NET 815 or more years of experience using Visual Studio and Microsoft development toolsExtensive experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server development and administrationStrong object-oriented design and development experienceExperience developing and supporting n-tier enterprise architecturesExperience with Azure DevOps, source control, branching, and CI/CD pipelinesExperience leading complex technology projects and serving in senior technical leadership rolesExperience supporting production deployments and troubleshooting deployment issuesStrong knowledge of Agile methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle practicesExperience producing technical documentation and architecture artifactsPreferred Qualifications Experience with Azure App Services and cloud-native application developmentExperience developing ASP.NET MVC and Razor Pages applicationsExperience with AngularJS, Bootstrap, jQuery, and responsive UI developmentExperience with NLog, iText, Redis, and ElasticsearchExperience with SonarQube, SonarCloud, and automated code quality toolsExperience creating technical prototypes and wireframesExperience supporting large-scale government or public-sector systemsExperience with enterprise multilingual application frameworksExperience with accessibility compliance standards and ADA/WCAG requirementsGenerative AI & GitHub Copilot Requirements Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot EnterpriseAbility to craft effective prompts for software development, testing, documentation, and
