Role Description The Drafting Technician is an as-needed hybrid role based in San Diego, CA. This position is responsible for preparing detailed technical and architectural drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and construction documents, in alignment with project requirements and design standards. Day-to-day tasks include translating design concepts into accurate CAD drawings, coordinating with architects and project managers, revising documents based on feedback, and ensuring that drawings meet relevant building codes and industry standards. The Drafting Technician will also assist in compiling documentation sets, maintaining organized drawing files, and supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration with engineering and development team members.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong technical drawing and general drawing skills for precise, detailed documentation.Candidates should possess skills in architectural drawings, including plans, sections, elevations, and construction document preparation.Candidates should possess foundational civil engineering knowledge to support coordination with structural and site design requirements.Candidates should possess effective communication skills for collaborating with architects, engineers, and project stakeholders.Proficiency in CAD and BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with applicable building codes and standards.Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in drafting, architecture, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and commitment to meeting project deadlines.Previous experience in an architectural or development studio environment is preferred.
