You will also sit close to firm leadership and be expected to explain what the numbers mean and what we should do about them. Project accounting and billing Deliver a monthly reporting package to leadership: P&L versus budget and prior year, balance sheet, cash flow, backlog, and project profitability — with written variance commentary that names the driver, not just the delta.Own the firm's operating metrics: utilization, realization, net service revenue, overhead rate, effective multiplier, revenue per employee, and profit by project, market sector, and principal.Build practical dashboards and reports that project managers and studio leaders will actually use, and coach them to read their own numbers.Support leadership with ad hoc analysis: go/no-go economics on pursuits, fee proposals and staffing plans, rate table updates, and benchmarking against industry survey data. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.10–15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including ownership of the month-end close.Working command of US GAAP, with practical experience applying revenue recognition to service contracts.Demonstrated experience building budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for an operating business — not just reporting history.Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling) and comfort working in an integrated ERP or project accounting system.The ability to explain financial results to people who are not financial: clearly, briefly, and without jargon.Sound judgment and discretion with compensation, ownership, and other confidential information.
