Full-Time Assistant Professor - Classical Architecture

Course loads vary, but typically, the position will teach two studio courses (12 hours each) and a general education course (3 hours) each semester, or a varied combination of studio and general education courses equating to a full time course load.. Each Fall, this position will teach BACL 101, Classical Studio I – The Orders and Analytique plus one other studio such as BACL 201, Classical Studio III – Residential Design or BACL 301 – Classical Studio V – Preservation. Each Spring, this position will teach BACL 102, Classical Studio II – Architectural Representation/Rendering plus one other studio in a Special Topic. Healthcare benefits are 100% covered by ACBA as well! This course introduces beginning students to the fundamental principles of classical architecture, embodied in the classical Orders of Architecture – a system of design, proportioning, material, ornament, and detail at the heart of architectural theory and practice from ancient Greece and Rome through the mid-twentieth century. Work will include research, documentation, and analysis of existing conditions in addition to design.
