Group Leader for Justice Architecture

In this vital leadership role, you will be pivotal in enhancing our vision for growth within the justice and corrections sector. As a key member of GFT's integrated Architecture & Engineering practice, you will closely collaborate with other leaders within the justice discipline and our nationwide team of talented designers. Your efforts will help us foster market growth, enrich client partnerships, and broaden our geographic presence, all while creating justice facilities that focus on innovative design and community well-being.

Your responsibilities will include:

Market Leadership & Strategy Be the face of GFT in the justice and corrections arena, showcasing our expertise and portfolio. Work with market discipline leaders to implement a cohesive growth strategy across various regions. Create and execute strategic business development plans that align with overall firm objectives. Identify and explore new market opportunities, including those in untapped geographic areas. Oversee the Justice Architecture department, focusing on staffing strategies and talent development. Establish annual goals and performance metrics tied to revenue, quality, and market growth. Collaborate with leadership to forecast workload and manage staffing needs. Build and maintain relationships with key agencies and community stakeholders. Conduct in-depth research into client-specific programs and operational models. Participate and represent GFT at conferences and industry events. Travel regionally and nationally as required. Publish articles on trends and innovations in justice design, establishing GFT as a thought leader. Client Engagement & Relationship Development Act as a trusted advisor to clients, fostering long-lasting relationships based on reliability and performance. Develop partnerships with government and community stakeholders to enhance market presence. Support strategic pursuits that align with client missions and community aspirations. Project & Pursuit Leadership Lead and participate in proposal development, including concept creation and quality reviews. Engage in client interviews and presentations, showcasing team capabilities and expertise. Collaborate with teams nationwide to strengthen GFT’s positioning in target markets. Represent GFT in associations focused on justice architecture and related fields. Thought Leadership & Technical Expertise Serve as a subject matter expert in justice architecture across various facility types. Share insights on industry trends and best practices that enhance client strategies. Contribute to firm initiatives, including publications and speaking engagements. Project Management & Team Leadership Manage selected projects, ensuring high-quality execution within defined scopes and timelines. Lead the development of innovative design concepts and presentations. Mentor cross-disciplinary teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. Coordinate technical documentation with engineering and consulting teams. Oversee project specifications and compliance with relevant codes and quality standards. Participate in key project phases, including construction administration and site visits. Support the growth of emerging architectural talent through mentorship. What you will bring to our firm:

A collaborative and positive leadership approach. A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture. Proficiency in Revit, BlueBeam Revu, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office. Experience with technical specification writing and construction documentation. Exceptional communication, writing, and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively across offices. A comprehensive understanding of building codes and standards, including ADA and LEED. In-depth knowledge of justice design standards, including ACA and NIC guidelines. Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed or Registered Architect in the United States. 15+ years of experience in Project Management and Justice/Correctional design. Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams in principal or senior roles. Proven ability to secure work and manage client relationships in diverse locations. Experience with developing market strategies and leading departments. Prior experience presenting to governmental and community organizations. Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $220,000-$250,000, commensurate with experience and geographic location.
