We are looking for an Infrastructure Solutions Architect with extensive expertise in IBM Power Systems and IBM i environments, aimed at helping clients modernize, optimize, and scale their critical infrastructure. This role combines technical architecture, customer engagement, and strategic solution design across enterprise hosting, hybrid cloud, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.

The ideal candidate will excel at leading technical discussions with customers, designing robust IBM i and Power-based solutions, and collaborating closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure successful outcomes that align with client and operational goals.

Responsibilities:

Architect IBM Power Systems and IBM i solutions for enterprise and mid-market customers.Lead modernization, migration, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery projects.Develop hybrid infrastructure solutions that incorporate colocation, managed services, cloud, and on-prem platforms.Act as the technical lead during customer discovery sessions, solution presentations, and architectural reviews.Work with Sales teams to align technical strategies with business requirements.Create thorough solution documentation, diagrams, scopes, and technical recommendations.Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams to ensure feasibility and operational alignment of solutions.Provide technical mentorship and contribute to the establishment of architectural standards and best practices.Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Infrastructure Engineering, or related consulting roles.Deep expertise in IBM Power Systems, IBM i (AS/400), PowerVM, and IBM PowerVS.Experience designing and supporting solutions for enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability.Solid understanding of enterprise infrastructure, hosting, and hybrid cloud environments.Proficient in presenting technical solutions to customers and executive stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.Preferred/Bonus Qualifications:

Experience with x86 server infrastructure design and administration.Familiarity with VMware virtualization platforms.Knowledge of public cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.Background in managed hosting or colocation environments.Understanding of enterprise networking and security concepts.With over 20 years of experience, LightEdge provides a comprehensive array of IT services that prioritize flexibility, security, and control.
