Job Captain – Architecture

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Job Captain to join a highly respected architectural firm in Walnut Creek, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for an architectural professional who enjoys taking ownership of construction documentation, coordinating with consultants, and helping bring projects from design development through completion.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and confident working in Revit and AutoCAD, with strong knowledge of construction documents, architectural codes, and project coordination.

What You'll Do

Lead and coordinate the production of architectural construction documents.Develop and manage drawing sets using Revit and AutoCAD.Assist with project programming, space planning, and design development.Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, and other project team members.Review drawings and documentation for accuracy, quality, and code compliance.Research and apply applicable building codes, regulations, and standards.Help maintain project schedules and ensure deliverables are completed on time.Identify and resolve design and documentation issues during project development.Support the Project Architect and broader project team throughout the design and documentation process.Contribute to sustainable, energy-efficient, and adaptable design solutions.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.Professional experience in architectural design and construction documentation.Strong proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD.Experience with project programming, space planning, and design development.Strong understanding of architectural construction documents and building codes.Experience coordinating with consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.Architectural licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus.Experience with sustainable design or energy-efficient building practices is highly desirable.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in educational, institutional, commercial, public-sector, or other complex architectural projects are encouraged to apply.
