At Suncrest, we create outdoor spaces that inspire. We’re looking for a highly experienced Landscape Architect to lead the design and sales of sophisticated, high-end residential landscape projects.
This is a senior-level design and sales position for a design professional who brings a high level of technical expertise, creativity, and client leadership to every project. The Landscape Architect will be trusted to take complex projects from initial concept through detailed design, estimating, client presentation, and production handoff.
This individual will also serve as a resource to the broader design team, helping elevate Suncrest’s design standards, technical capabilities, and overall client experience.
What You’ll Do
Lead High-End Residential Design
Lead the design of complex, high-end residential landscape projects from initial consultation through construction handoff.Develop sophisticated design concepts that integrate architecture, landscape, grading, drainage, planting, hardscape, outdoor living, lighting, and site conditions.Analyze existing site conditions and identify opportunities and constraints that influence design decisions.Develop detailed, accurate, and buildable plans using AutoCAD and advanced 3D design software.Develop site plans, planting plans, hardscape plans, grading concepts, construction details, material selections, and other technical documents as appropriate.Create compelling 2D and 3D presentations that clearly communicate the design vision to clients.Balance design intent with constructability, budget, maintenance, and long-term performance.Resolve complex design and site challenges independently and develop creative, practical solutions.Client Leadership & Sales
Lead high-value design consultations with discerning residential clients.Establish credibility and trust by serving as a knowledgeable design advisor throughout the sales process.Translate complex client goals, architectural styles, site conditions, and lifestyle requirements into cohesive design solutions.Present design concepts, material selections, estimates, and project proposals with confidence.Develop accurate project budgets and estimates while maintaining an understanding of project profitability.Manage multiple projects and sales opportunities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of client service.Develop and cultivate referral, repeat, and new business opportunities.Represent Suncrest professionally in client meetings, industry events, and other business-development opportunities.Project Collaboration & Technical Leadership
Partner closely with field supervisors, production teams, subcontractors, and procurement to ensure designs are executed as intended.Conduct thorough project handoffs and communicate design intent, technical requirements, materials, and potential construction challenges.Review projects for constructability and identify issues before they reach the field.Assist production teams with design-related questions and field conditions when necessary.Participate in design reviews and help establish best practices for design documentation and project handoff.Mentor and provide technical guidance to less-experienced designers as appropriate.Contribute to Suncrest's continued development of its design standards, processes, and offerings.Participate in sales meetings, training, strategic planning, and professional development.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Architecture, or a closely related field preferred.5+ years of professional landscape architecture/design experience, with significant residential experience strongly preferred.Proven experience designing and selling high-end residential landscape projects.Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.Strong proficiency with professional 3D design/rendering software.Strong understanding of residential site design, grading, drainage, hardscape construction, planting design, outdoor living, and landscape materials.Ability to develop detailed, technically sound, and buildable construction documents.Strong understanding of construction methods and the relationship between design decisions, project cost, and field execution.Exceptional design judgment and attention to detail.Strong consultative sales, presentation, negotiation, and client relationship skills.Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects from concept through production handoff.Ability to confidently communicate with homeowners, contractors, architects, builders, and other design professionals.Strong organizational and project-management skills.Ability to mentor and elevate other members of the design team.Portfolio demonstrating sophisticated residential landscape design work required.Landscape Architect licensure is a plus and may be required depending on project scope and applicable regulations.Valid driver's license.
