Landscape Architect

About the position

Thrasher is seeking a Landscape Architect to join our Planning & Landscape Architecture team. This position will work closely with architects, civil engineers, and surveyors on a diverse range of projects, including parks and recreation facilities, trails, streetscapes, tourism infrastructure related site development, master plans, and community revitalization efforts. The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented designer who enjoys collaborating across disciplines and seeing projects through from early concepts to construction. Our team is currently engaged in a multitude of community improvement projects across our footprint that are transforming public and private spaces in Appalachia. We are passionate about improving the places around us and are looking for a team member that wants to be involved in transformative projects for our region.

Responsibilities

Develop site plans, landscape plans, planting designs, grading concepts, and hardscape details for public and private projects.Prepare conceptual designs, renderings, and graphics for master plans, community engagement, and funding applications.Produce construction documents, details, and specifications in coordination with multi-disciplinary project teams.Participate in client meetings, public presentations, and community input sessions.Conduct site visits and assist with construction administration to ensure design intent is achieved.Support project pursuits and proposals with design concepts and graphic content.Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D required.Strong graphic, design, and communication skills.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines.Nice-to-haves

Licensed Landscape Architect (PLA) preferred, or actively pursuing licensure.3–7 years of professional landscape architecture or site design experience preferred; strong entry-level candidates will be considered.Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar visualization tools a plus.Benefits
