As a Landscape Architect, you’ll contribute to projects that improve how people live, work, and connect by delivering integrated planning and design solutions across infrastructure, transportation, water, environmental, energy, and advanced facility projects.

Based in California, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects throughout the United States and internationally. In this role, you’ll help develop innovative, resilient design solutions, support project delivery from concept through construction, build strong client relationships, and contribute to Jacobs’ thought leadership in areas such as climate adaptation, resilience, and regenerative design.

What You'll Do

Develop landscape architecture and site design solutions for infrastructure and development projectsSupport projects from conceptual design through construction documentation and implementationPrepare design graphics, presentation materials, renderings, and technical drawingsConduct site analysis, code research, and regulatory reviewsCoordinate with multidisciplinary project teams across multiple markets and geographiesSupport construction phase services, including responses to requests for information, shop drawing reviews, and site observationsOrganize, analyze, and present technical information to project teams and clientsBuild and maintain client relationships through successful project deliveryParticipate in public outreach and stakeholder engagement activities, as requiredContribute to thought leadership initiatives through industry engagement, presentations, writing, and professional activitiesSupport the continued growth and development of Jacobs’ landscape architecture practice

Here's what you'll need

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape ArchitectureProfessional Landscape Architect license in CaliforniaDemonstrated 5 to 10 years of experience as a Landscape Architect supporting infrastructure projects for private sector clients and state or local government agenciesExperience delivering projects from conceptual design through construction document preparationAbility to communicate design ideas through hand sketches, computer-generated graphics, and presentation renderingsExperience supporting construction phase services, including requests for information, shop drawing reviews, and site observationsProficiency with local and state code research and permitting or submittal requirementsAbility to collect, organize, interpret, and present data to project teams and clientsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to develop and maintain client relationshipsVarious projects may require U.S. citizenship, travel, and participation in public outreach activities

Ideally, you'll also have

Experience developing resilience-focused planning and design strategies using nature-based and performance-driven solutionsProficiency with GIS (ESRI v9/v10), AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Land F/X, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Mural, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office 365 applicationsExperience with BIM tools, including RevitExperience with visualization tools such as Lumion or TwinmotionExperience using MicroStationExperience working on multidisciplinary projects across multiple infrastructure and development sectorsInterest in advancing industry thought leadership related to resilience, climate adaptation, regenerative design, or sustainable development

The base salary range for this position is $133,800.00 to $183,900.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
