Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Landscape Architect (PLA) with some experience and/or interest in urban development to enhance the current Landscape Architecture department and work hand-in-hand with the land development department in master facility planning, site plan creation, and subdivision layout. This role will split between a traditional landscape architecture role with planting plan design, park design, etc, and an urban planning role working on the entitlement of large complex land development projects.
The ideal candidate is a highly autonomous position with a professional who can lead projects from concept through construction and act as a primary point of contact for clients on all landscape architecture matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Excellence: Oversee preparation of construction documents (CDs), specifications, bidding materials, and complex planting and irrigation plans.Project Management: Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, coordinating effectively with internal Civil Engineering, Planning, and Surveying teams.Client Engagement: Serve as the point of contact for clients and external stakeholders, presenting design concepts and securing necessary approvals from planning and permitting authorities.
Requirements:
Education & Licensure:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program.Licensure: Current Professional Landscape Architect (PLA) license in the States of Washington or Idaho (or the ability to obtain it within six months through reciprocity).
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 3+ years of progressive professional experience in a private consulting or development environment, with a focus on land development projects.Expert-level proficiency with design and production software, including AutoCAD/Civil 3D,Proven portfolio demonstrating successful design, production, and management of complex projects from concept through completion.Deep knowledge of regional plant materials, irrigation systems, local jurisdictional requirements, and sustainable design principles.Exceptional written, verbal, and visual communication skills for presenting to clients, permitting agencies, and staff.
