What You'll Do:

In the role of Lead AI Architect for Teradata AI Studio, you will be responsible for defining the technical architecture of our end-to-end AI development environment. This includes the platform where data scientists, ML engineers, and AI developers work to build, test, deploy, and monitor AI and agentic applications using Vantage. You will:

Set the architectural vision for AI Studio's integration with Teradata Vantage's query engine, model registry, feature store, and agent harness. Establish best practices for building trustworthy AI workflows, from data preparation through model deployment to agent-driven automation. Ensure AI Studio is a leading, governed, and scalable AI development environment. This is a hands-on technical leadership position. Your success will be measured by the architectural decisions you make, the adoption of AI Studio by our customers, and Teradata's reputation as the preferred platform for enterprise AI development.

Who You'll Work With:

You will serve as the primary technical advisor for AI Studio within our AI Apps, Analytics, and UX Engineering organization. Collaboration will be key as you work closely with the VP of Engineering for AI Platform, the staff AI engineers developing AI Studio components, and the Product Management team to align architecture with product strategy. Your role will also cross multiple functions, engaging with:

Teradata's Core Data Platform team on Vantage integration points. The Security and Governance team to enforce enterprise-grade AI controls. Key customers during design partner engagements to ensure AI Studio addresses real enterprise-scale challenges. What Makes You a Qualified Candidate:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior architect or principal engineer position. Expertise in designing AI/ML platforms or developer tools, such as model serving infrastructure, feature stores, experiment tracking, or MLOps pipelines. A deep understanding of LLM integration patterns, including RAG architectures and fine-tuning pipelines. Experience with enterprise data platforms (like Teradata Vantage, Snowflake, or Databricks) sufficient to architect against their APIs and security models. A history of building developer-facing platforms - SDKs, APIs, or IDEs that external developers can adopt and extend. Familiarity with open-source AI development tools such as MLflow, Weights & Biases, or Hugging Face. Understanding of enterprise AI governance requirements, including model lineage and data access controls. Experience with cloud-native architecture and containerized ML workloads (Kubernetes, Docker). Strong cross-functional influence, with a proven ability to drive alignment across teams. A portfolio demonstrating your architectural decisions, such as RFCs or design documents. A passion for AI and its potential to positively impact teams and communities. Pay Rate: 217300.0000 - 271600.0000 - 325900.0000 Annually. Initial starting pay will depend on geographic location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Sales roles are eligible for commission payments based on quota achievement. All other permanent roles may qualify for annual incentive plans tied to company and individual performance.
